Do your kids ever get bored with the same old sandwiches? 

That’s why I love making food fun, and this ladybug sandwich is always a hit. 

It’s cute, colorful, and super easy to make. 

Plus, it’s a great way to sneak in some healthy ingredients while keeping lunchtime exciting.

This recipe is perfect for school lunches, picnics, or even a fun weekend snack. 

And, it’s a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen!

Ingredients

  • ½ brioche bun
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tomato
  • Handful of arugula
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • 5 black olives
  • Small pasta sticks (optional, for the antennae)

How to Make A Ladybug BLT

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan and toast the brioche bun, cut side down, until it’s golden and crispy. This helps keep the sandwich sturdy and adds a delicious crunch!
  1. While the bun is toasting, cook the bacon in another pan until it’s crispy. Once done, place it on a paper towel to remove extra grease.
  1. Spread mayonnaise on the toasted bun.

  1. Place the crispy bacon on top.

  1. Add a handful of arugula and drizzle it with lemon juice for a fresh flavor boost.
  1. Cut a thick tomato slice in half to create the ladybug’s “wings.” Place them on top of the arugula.

  1. Use half of an olive for the ladybug’s head and dot two tiny spots of mayonnaise for the eyes.
  1. Stick two small pieces of pasta into the olive to make antennae.
  1. Slice extra olives into circles and place them on the tomato wings to create ladybug spots.
