I have a confession. I’ve always loved Cap’n Crunch cereal.

It reminds me of slow Saturday mornings as a kid, sitting in front of the TV with a big bowl of that crunchy goodness.

So, when I found out I could turn my favorite childhood cereal into the ultimate crispy French toast, I knew I had to try it.

Let me tell you, it did not disappoint!

This fancy French toast is crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and full of vanilla and cinnamon flavor.

It’s the perfect treat for breakfast that feels fun and a little nostalgic.

Plus, it’s easy to make!

Ingredients

Kitchen counter top with a bowl of Cap'n Crunch cereal, slices of bread, eggs, butter, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups of Cap’n Crunch Cereal
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

How to Make Captain Crunch French Toast

Serving Suggestions & Toppings

Now comes the fun part: toppings! Here are some delicious ways to serve your crispy French toast:

  • Drizzle with maple syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a dessert-style breakfast.
  • Top with fresh berries and a little whipped cream.
  • Sprinkle on some chopped pecans or almonds for extra crunch.

Tips for the Crispiest French Toast

  • Use slightly stale bread so it doesn’t get too soggy in the egg mixture.
  • Cook on medium heat to ensure a crispy crust without burning.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan. Give each slice room to crisp up!
  • If you don’t want to fry your French toasts, bake them at 375°F for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.
