Ingredients

For the Pancake Petals:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup buttermilk (or kefir)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1½ tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 2 drops of red food coloring (optional for a pink hue)
For the Fruit Bouquet:
- 1 banana
- Some canned pineapple
- 2 strawberries
- 1-2 mandarins
- 1 tbsp candied cherries
- Strawberry leaves (for a floral touch)
- Licorice candy (to use as stems, optional)
Optional for Serving:
- Honey, maple syrup, or yogurt sauce
- Chocolate sauce or Nutella
- Wrapping paper and ribbon for a bouquet-style presentation
How to Make a Fruit Bouquet
Step 1: Make the Pancake Petals
- Prepare the pancake batter:
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together egg and buttermilk.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently to keep the batter fluffy.
- Add olive oil and red food coloring (if using) to give the pancakes a soft pink color.

- Cook the pancakes:
- Heat a skillet and lightly grease it with olive oil.
- Pour small circles of batter to make mini pancakes.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for 1-2 minutes on the other side.

- Cut into petal shapes:
Once cooled, cut each pancake into 2-3 petal-like pieces. Or if they are small, use them on their own.
Step 2: Prepare the Fruit
- Slice the banana and strawberries into thin rounds.
- Cut pineapple into small pieces.
- Separate the mandarins into slices.
- Keep candied cherries and strawberry leaves for decoration.
Step 3: Assemble Your DIY Edible Arrangement
- On a serving plate, arrange the pancake petals as the base of your “flowers.”
- Layer banana slices, strawberries, pineapples, cherries, and mandarins on top of the pancakes.

- Use licorice strips as stems to complete the bouquet look.
